Young Heart That Once Broke Apart
My heart begins to pound
Like raindrops, collapsing on my roof
My heart begins to thump
Like the drums – making rhythm in the night
From my youth,
I knew no goodness
Teach me His truth,
So that I will someday meet success
From my youth,
I knew nothing at first
Teach me Your truth,
Or I’ll be left to thirst
On my own…please see me through
The pane…the pain sticks to me like glue
I had an active and cheerful heart
But, evilness cruelly broke it apart
And who’s the one to blame – well, me
I had an innocent and naïve soul,
But agony and shame took its toll
It’s sad, but it’s all true
I hear my heart beat – my heart bleeds blue
And…now I call
Him…who mends us all
My heart skips a beat…
I have shaky, nervous feet
As if I was about to perform on stage,
However, I won’t dread it…
I won’t sweat it
