You Would Rather Lie
You grip my heart with your eyes,
You stare me down and then spill your lies,
You have everyone believing, the tricks you pull,
But when you stare at me, you know I'm no fool,
You must taunt me to make yourself look bigger,
But when you stand by yourself, a different story you'll utter,
I'm sick to my stomach, I ask myself why?,
I allow you to hurt me, so you'll feel better inside,
This is not about me, this is all about you,
And I don't appreciate the embarrassment you put me through,
I will quietly walk away, and pray you'll see,
Because your obviously in more pain than me,
I loved you deeply and I tried,
But you would rather have your lies.
