You Taught Me How
You Taught Me How
Oh, Lord, my God, I come with adoration
To sing thy praise and ever share thy love
For in Thy hands, my soul saw sweet remission.
I bow to thee before the hosts above.
I once was weak, and needed admonition
You came with love, forgiving all my sin.
Then, I found strength to follow thee…to harken.
Safe in thy truths, my new life did begin.
Now, I am free to hold my head uprightly.
For with my heart, I seek thy teachings dear.
I’m not alone; my path is lit up brightly.
With every step, I feel thy spirit near.
I promise, Lord, to always strive to please thee.
Steadfastly seeking thy eternal light.
I’ll grasp your hand when Satan comes to tease me.
And choose the right with every ounce of might.
Oh, Lord, my God I am so glad you love me.
You saw some faith and gently nudged me in.
Thy power is great enough to make my soul see.
And call me home despite where I have been.
You led with love showing thy endless greatness.
And brought me home to find eternal peace
I thank thee God for humility and meekness
You taught me how to win against sin’s fleece.
….You taught me how to win against sin’s fleece.
