You Kissed Me But Once
True, you kissed me but once
And with tears turned away
From a loss we both needed to grieve
But the years still embrace
Something found in that space
A brief glimpse of a garden with Eve.
That day Paradise Lost
But its echoes still ring
For its tongue spoke of living in love
With a life beyond reason,
One that transcends known season,
And that lives still in heaven above.
Though our blossoming found
Distant gardens as home
Still I breathlessly wait for its song
Its tune touches my day
Fragrance softens life’s fray,
With my poetry humming along.
