You Just Wait

This morning it was my knee, No injury that I could see. My back has begun to ache, Daily Motrin I must take. My vision is getting faint, Just one more damn complaint! My new pill box overflowing, To the Dr I’m always going. Fiber is my new best friend, Will this decline ever end? Don’t snicker you young folk, Getting older is no joke. Someday you’ll be just like me…. Ha, Ha..you just wait and see

I'm not laughing, Barbara, though I'm sure the "young folk" are snickering while readig this. The truth about aging really hurts! This one hit too close to home (argh). Hope you are doing well, fellow LNC. Much love, Carolyn

Talk about San Francisco...my son is a free-lance clarinetist and has sub'd with the San Francisco Opera. I've played a number of operas in my day, but never the Rosenkavalier. My favorites are Falstaff, Tristan und Isolde, Rosenkavalier and (one at a time) Wagner's "Ring." Oh, I forgot Hansel und Gretel by Humperdink - no relation to the singer. I love these because of the orchestra being equal to the stage parts. Love, daver

Love this couplet. Growing old is not for sissies that is for sure. One has to be tough to handle old age. Keep the creative pen flowing so the arthritis will not cripple those unsed joints. Sara

Yes! Let it all 'hang-out'! Getting old aint no fun! You're in a different world. Saturday I went to hear the Metropolitan Opera do Der Rosenkavalier. What sets! What singing! What an orchestra. What a great composer R. Strauss was. When I look at how far we've come I get nauseous. This is a whole 'nother world. What happened to innocence? What happened to simplicity? Great write, Barb. Love, daver
