You Give Me So Much
“You give me so much!”
I coo, as I hug and kiss
one of my four dogs
one of my four best friends
remembering how they are mine
for just a brief time
while I am theirs
for a whole life.
Such best friends come and go
an endless river of love
in human, canine and feline form
each one absorbing the love
they effortlessly draw
as our hearts entwine.
“You give me so much.”
They reply with just their eyes.
