Full All Dressed Up and Going Nowhere!
"Approximately 10 quintillion insects reside on Earth --
in addition to billions of squirming humans."
-- a stink bug by any other name

My feet yet crawl to each fine free-for-all,
each slugfest plus each ugly bugly baaall . . .
wheeeeeeeeeeeeere
bugs can jitterbug full on demand!
or boogie, bebop, hop, or cut a rug!
or strum a banjo down in Cotton Land!
or blow on any jug with any slug!
yeeeeeeeeeeeeet
rock a concert out at each new gig!
or sing a cabaret with a beret!
or holler Pagliacci in a wig!
or croon a tune and croon it their own way!
stiiiiiiiiiiiiill
paint a modern abstract when in debt!
or Herod Hamlet or a Hamlet ham!
or method act and truly break a sweat!
or be the punning sonneteer "I am"!
or in a buggy G-string find romaaance --
with daddy long-legged love in antsy paaaaaaaaaaaaants!
* * *
a dedication of Respect
for
the Pain of eight billion bugs
to later -- or sooner -- be
squashed
a revolving helios rhyme menippean satire on
the beauty of the world! the paragon of pests!
january, 2023 -- each second being hatched yet
five brand-new baby insects
right here on
planet bug
