You Can'T Get There From Here

The adage we have often heard “You can’t get there from here” Usually, with humor it is said Yet another meaning it may adhere Your view of an issue, may puzzle me From where I stand today But if I had trod the path you have I might see things another way Since I don’t know the facts as you The least I can do, is speculate From that, I have no right to judge Just what position you should take And so it seems, there is a chasm Which neither you or I May cross in each other’s life Although sincerely, we may try Unless I go there, or you come here Each others burdens, we don’t know If we’ll but apply, the “Golden Rule” Perhaps compassion, we both can show.
