You Can'T Do Anything Right
"You can't do anything right"
This is the message people showed toward me
when I was growing up
"Why bother if you can't do it?"
"Don't dance with us if you don't know how to"
So I'm the one who sits by herself because
"I can't do anything right"
"Don't touch that if you don't know
what you are doing"
"Why talk if no one will listen to you?"
So I'm the one who doesn't bother trying because
"I don't have a voice"
Still to this day I could be in a crowd, let alone
with friends, and no one would hear me
So I'm the girl, the woman, the wife, the mother,
the HUMAN being that "can't do anything right & has no voice"
But that's OK
I'm still here
I did something right
