You Cannot Run Away
My thoughts, they would not free me
I tried to run away
No matter how far I ran
there I would still be
I longed to quiet that angry voice
screaming of past dread
I could run all day long
but I can't escape my head
Running is not the answer
if peace is what we seek
All that screaming in our head
will leave our soul too weak
Find a way to come to terms
let go of the past
Or any happiness you find
will truly never last.
