You Can Tell Me

What do you want to tell me That you feel you cannot tell? Do you think I would run away Laugh Or reject you? Do you think I would change my perception of you? Do you know that a person is not made by what he does But by what he is in his soul? People change Do things Things that they may not be proud of Making mistakes along the way That is part of a learning process Part of life One should not judge a book by its cover By the beauty from the outside But by the heart shining through its protective layer When we are vulnerable It is easy to cover up and insulate Shield and fortify But wouldn’t you want to be free And find out? Never know what you’ll be missing Sooo Don’t or do Wish you do

I recently heard someone talking on the theme of a person's makeup. The general idea was that a person is more than just what they do, or say or what can be observed about them. They are also the things they want to do, or wish they could do, or what they intended instead of what only what they did. I think you have an insightful mind as I see some of these themes in your poem here. Well written, and thanks for sharing.
