Yesterday

Yesterday I saw the sun shine upon you face You were young So was I We vowed to love each other to the day we die Life was hard And at times we were disillusioned The price of love Was so great And we were set asunder By fate Until it was too late You got married And may be tarried On the way to the place we called home But life was unfair Beyond what I could bear And the memories of me fade away Gone with the wind Like a candle in the storm At night there was nobody to keep me warm In the day Phantoms of old hunted me I was a prisoner in your dungeon For every single day I prayed to my God to see you again I remembered your laughter in the dead of the night How we used to play and sometimes we fight That was yesterday Because I no longer see your beautiful face Or feeling the tenderness of your skin I can only hear your voice in the wind Like Deja vu In places I have never been I am as gray as the sun I have seen many a good day How I wished you have stayed Oh I prayed To the good Lord That was yesterday and this is today We keep on forgetting the past each day Everyone will also be a thing of the past And we shall rest in peace from all the troubles of the world at last
