Yellow Jackets
Angel on your shoulder
Whispers in you ear
The things you need to hear
Does a voice from the outside
Ring true?
People all have advice
Who do you listen to?
In those final moments
Will you know?
Will you believe the final
Sacrament or will you turn away?
I need to know
I need to understand
What makes you think
Can you ignore the man?
Is it a lie?
A trick on religion
Or just a way to justify
Denial.
Like the cacti that bloom in the desert
We only get one chance at beauty
Is it a swirling plastic bag in the corner?
Caught up with some leaves
A hand that we cannot perceive carries that lifeless form
Yellow jackets burn my eyes
Swarming to blind the truth
Why does God make it so hard?
To see the truth
Are we all living a lie?
