Xmas Present

Recalling Christmas as a boy: how great it used to be - a child's excitement, festive dreams, my loved ones here with me. So much has changed, so many gone - I pine for yesterday - but Christmas is the time for fun and sends the blues away! A day to celebrate - no tears! - so grateful for those happy years. written 26th November for Constance's Xmas contest

Nostalgia often comes to visit, and we yearn for those bygone years when life, despite everything, seemed so much better than now. I love your poem and the positive ending, Jack. ~ Regards // paul

Yes indeed. Christmas is a time to celebrate all He has done for us. He knew what He was going to face but Hero that He is He came anyway without hesitation. A lovely write. Congrats my friend. God Bless, JB

Reads like a good contender for the contest. Way to go. I can remember good times and bad times on Christmas but it was always good that family was there to lift us up and now all our older ones are gone on and we are the older ones. Thanks for stopping by my page with an encouraging comment. Sara
