Wrong-Sized Shoes - a Pantoum
You don’t really know me, Lover.
You, shoving wrong-sized shoes on my feet,
Then you say, “Run! Run with me!”
Those shoes hurt! Too small. Too large. Blisters!
You shoving wrong. Sized shoes on my feet.
I’m not your mother, with her child favorites or worse betrayals.
Those shoes hurt too! Small to large blisters!
Or your past women who cheated you of your trust, broke your love into a million shards of glass.
You shoving wrong sized shoes on. My feet!
Then, you say: "Run!" Run with me?
I’m not your mother (with her child favorites.) Or worse betrayals?
You shoving wrong-sized shoes on. MY feet!!
