Written Upon the Waters
An attractive young lady she was
in her head was filled many thoughts
those of love and what might have been
training her mind to keep what's caught
Here she leans over the side
what is she really thinking?
no one can know, only this lady
whether her heart too is sinking
There's a message in her head
wishing to export it to his ears
if only this water was solid still
then the water tells it so he hears
Look on with her finger-pointing
into this water so very deep
is this love worth all the effort
her life is precious needs to keep
Hope is all I've got she says
thinking into her self, it's so real
well some things need not be
but my heart will it ever heal?
Written upon the waters
by her finger so very tender
maybe one day into the future
she'll receive 'return to sender'
