Writer's Block

WRITER’S BLOCK No inspiration to write... no bright ideas swirling around in my head, wishing my pen would have a mind of its own and fill this empty page instead. Sometimes - motivation flows unimpeded surging like a cascading waterfall, mind free-falling, thinking, writing… But times like now, I'm drawing a blank... delving deep within my muddled mind. Like an inept magician trying to pull pearls from an inactive imagination, I can't find words to articulate my thoughts. Maybe, if I fall asleep... perhaps, in a dream, maybe then ideas will flow freely. But right now, I'm not trying to count sheep, just trying to think through this, trying to wade through the haze. At 3 o'clock in the morning, I'm still staring into stark space, hoping intently, looking at this blank page... seeking inspiration. Where is my Muse? Featured on PoetrySoup: 06-01-2014

Dear Pandita, your amazing and intimate first write on PS is a beautifully expressed poem that connects with my soul, heart and mind.I love that you chose this topic to be in your first poem- I feel it speaks to your confidence as the fine poetess and writer that you are. Filled with wondrous lines of lovely imagery and ideas, you deftly capture with your skilled pen, the frustration that I, and others, do feel from time to time. A fantastic poem my lovely friend! Hugs and warmest wishes always!

My dear friend, I am grateful for your always supportive lovely compliments! Unfortunately, right now I am experiencing a "lull" in my writing with all kinds of distractions getting in my way. As a matter of fact, my muse seems to be on vacation:-) lol! Hopefully, I'll soon get back on track. I wish you an enjoyable day full of sunshine! Hugs and best regards. Pandita

I have always found that my discontent leads to inspiration--at least for me. I can't write about beauty and wonder, but only write about things that disturb me or rouse my anger or that make me think of the foolishness of our ways. Unfortunately, there is always something that comes up. You have the ability to dream and express yourself. That is a gift to the rest of us here, and I thank you for it from my heart.

Hi Duke, thank you for your lovely compliments which I greatly appreciate! Sometimes its easy to find or muse; at other times, we need to dig deeper. However, there are some social situations and injustices that do incite us to creatively express our thoughts in writing and share with the world and you have that wonderful gift. All the best to you, my friend! Pandita

"No inspiration to write..." Pandita, it happens; and yet I think of such moments calling for a break, stretch! deep breathe, hydrate with hot h20, let your muse rejuvinate spiritually, believe me, it will come when least expected. I like this poem because it speaks for all of us. We don't fight it, we believe, envision, and quietly it will come. namaste! my friend...

I think everyone knows that feeling. I find staring at a blank paper not helpful, I have to come back later. Great expression of an emotion that all writers can connect to!!! Great write! ~Heather

If you could come up with a pen that works in the shower you would become a millionaire over night. If only I could come up with water proof paper as well, darn!

Hate writers' block, too. I once looked heavenward, and said "Lord, I could really use some inspiration", and ended up writing something about inspiration. Nice poem.
