Write Something Contemporary
Write something contemporary,
In contemporary form;
So being unfamiliar,
I looked up poetic forms.
I could not find it listed,
And this left me forlorn,
Till I thought about the meaning,
Contemporary means "The Norm".
Anything of the present time,
What we consider modern;
And it seems is passing,
Just a short sojourn.
What today is modern, chic,
Tomorrow is passe, antique;
So anything contemporary,
Is simply something temporary.
I hope to heck I got this right,
'Cause I tried with all my might,
Until I thought I had a glimmer,
But inspiration's growing dimmer.
