Gershon, I think what's important here is that an intoxicant should always be proximate.

Gershon, a poetic response. Made to think. Cheers, Don The words seem aligned, yet hidden is the thread That links the terms with subtlety, twisting through my head. Proximate to intoxicant, the closeness draws us near, A breath away from swirling, lost within the cheer. Protestant and contestant, so close in sound and tone, One stands for belief, the other for their own. Though different in their meanings, the parallels persist, Playing with our senses, a puzzle in the mist.

wow, now that's mind boggling...way too early...before caffeine has kicked in. I suppose a protestant is a contestant in matters of faith...but proximate and intoxicant? will think on that :-)
