Sunsets Poetry Contest

Sponsored by: Natasha L Scragg

Sitting amidst sand dunes, From the ocean shore, I watch sunsets so keenly. The parading of colours ~ Yellow, orange and red, One after the other, On the canvas of the sky, Reminds me of the scene Of a fierce battle field. The blood-stained red sun, Moving down in slow motion, Towards the west, into the sea Appears like a warrior, Wounded all over his body Fighting the whole day. He seems, readying himself For his burial under the ocean. Birds flying helter-skelter, Towards their destinations, Appear to be crying aloud, Over the demise Of their light giver.
