Would You Like To Know Me

Would you like to know me As I yearn to know of you? You will find me in my poetry If you have the proper view. So read each verse, and carefully, For I am hiding there-- Sometimes a rose; sometimes a bee, Or a breath of autumn air. Still I am but a common man; I am sometimes fierce--or mild-- A father and a gentle soul... And ever still, a child! ~M

I did not visit with my Dad, I dragged him across the Texas border. LOL... You can say I was being greedy... I hogged him all up on FATHER's Day... hahahahah to my family.... LOL.. Yeah, I did it on purpose. Every father's day, he's with all the other father's in my family. Drinking like a man. BBQ-ing, and hearing music... Not This year:) I got to take him shopping, and sightseeing, plus breakfast and lunch... :) What More can a daughter do... I love my Father dearly

Hi Linda. Well, it sounds like your dad is very fortunate to have such a generous daughter--sons aren't as much fun lol When I got married I devoted most of my time to the ex and the little kids scurrying about. For awhile, I wanted my world to be only them. Made up for it in later years, however. What else can you do? Border kidnapping, I suppose lol

I went across the border, ..Geesss; it was hot down in Mexico... I don't know if I had fun, but my dad enjoyed every gift... I enjoyed hanging out with my dad, and two youngest. ..How was your day...Linda

I should have read this comment before the other. I spent the day with my daughter and her in-laws; fun, overall. Glad you got to visit with your dad, and no doubt he was glad to see you. The heat sounds awful, though. Still, nothin' counts so much as blood. I'm glad you made the trip :)

Mel; This is how we get to know people. You are a man of good sentiments. There are not too many like that. I for one am glad to know you. Many blessings... Lucilla

Thank you. That's a very kind observation, and proves you're insightful. There are a lot of not too nice guys out there--I know them. I was raised a little differently--I can be flirty and arrogant, but as a rule, I'm a kind, caring sensitive guy; maybe too sensitive. We are who we are, I guess. Good to know you, Lucilla. Hugs...Mel :)

That's where I am...lurking in the shadows of a cool and moon rinsed night, or waltzing in a dream, or sipping as a hummingbird from a trickle of a stream. Could go on, but I'm not gonna :) Thanks babe...oxo...M

Hi Jan, and thank you. The old Mel isn't quite back--a little more sober and serious of late, but I'm trying to find my smile. Great to hear from you, and I hope all is well in your tiny corner of the world. Glad you liked the write...inspiring as always. Hugs back...Mel :)
