Worm Hunting

Sunrise, a lighter shade of gray replaced a starless black. Pines stand sketched - one dimensional and sad, shrugging - not knowing if the day is worthy of a smile. While a robin adds another twig to its tightly woven hopes as instinct whispers, Worm hunting is always better on a rainy morning.

I like this poem about a Robin that has little to do with the Robin. That’s what makes it interesting.

Lovely, I am curious is English your first lanquage as I see a few changes could really make this one a winner. :) xoxo

Thanks Richard---ambiguities can often confuse those who are used to "The Straight Scoop"---and I rarely write that way--LOL..English is my only language and I minored in literature and composition in college - but I am always open to alternative ideas.

Myself I have to disagree, I would change nothing. I think it’s worthy of a second and third read. Perhaps that might change your perspective.

Very enjoyable read, Craig. I, too, am a robin-watcher.

... and crawlers at night, flashlight in hand! Beautifully-crafted write, Craig - I see you get about as many comments as I do, so I hope this covers for ALL the fools who read this superb penning and can't be bothered to spend a moment to say how superior it is to most that's offered publicly. It's a freaking travesty that mine is the first, shamefully so. This is straight to my faves, and I'm sharing with family. Namaste'

Honored Greg, But after a while you become numb to insignificant indifference and concentrate on brushstrokes that please you!
