The first in a trilogy I put together; Words, Mean and Nothing.
A helmsman, steering his ship Chasing the glorious light of day Success and justice wreathed In the yellow-orange flames of morning He wakes to the same dream Every day spent steering His ship of passengers "My life is spent in dedicated service To the people of my country." Cloaked in words, Words shrouded in fabrication, His shark smile covers truth With the perception of untruth Swathed in midnight suits, His words echo far and wide With all the inky blackness of a starless Night; as cool as the fog of dusk He steers the nation under darkness Using words hollow as his ship's hull To guide us towards The sunrise in his eyes
