Words - the Heart of Imagination

This seasoned evening sported a full faced  Orange Kool-Aid moon. Fully aware it was a marvel it shot me an arrogant wink. Not once but twice. I think i heard it laugh. It certainly flashed me an impish smile. Not much different than my own. No camera could ever capture a moment this precious. This needed, words- the heart of my imagination. I stepped inside. Pen in hand, iPad at my right side, laptop in front of me, desktop computer behind me, electric typewriter on my left side I was ready. I only hoped I would be able to express in words what  I had experienced. I penned this. This seasoned evening sported a full faced  Orange Kool Aid moon. Fully aware it was a marvel it shot me an arrogant wink. Not once but twice. I think i heard it laugh. It certainly flashed me an impish smile. Not much different than my own. 09~11~2014 Sponsor: Poet Destroyer A Contest Name: Best Poem of 2014

I enjoyed your humor and detail as well as your creative genuis, Maurice. Exceptional reading; you leave us in quandary with a new idea instead of a summary. I like that. I wrote a much shorter piece on the lunar eclipse of April 4, 2015. Not nearly as well-done as yours but it was for a specific prompt of a contest. Passover 2015, if you'd care to give me a critique.

guess what? this is the one that appears top of the list of your BEST poetry. And also it is from the same contest that inspired MY best poem of the year!! Check your faves too. Which poem of yours has the most faves on it? I am curious to know if it is this one. If it is, it proves my theory that this list of BEST poetry is an accurate portrayal of our poems with most faves on them. Since you were new poet this year, all the poems on that list would be from this year!

Your poem, Maurice, brought back the memory of Neil Armstrong. The man who did walk on the moon. Perhaps, with his sense of humor, like your own, he carried the orange Kool-Aid with him and gave the the moon a taste. Which caused the moon to smile and spread a warm orange glow of pleasure all over his face. Now every time we look at the moon, we see that smiling orange Kool Aid face reflecting back on ours. But only you could see a poem there and write it for us to enjoy.

Hi Maurice, I was watching the Macy's Parade yesterday and the kool-aid man made me think of this awesome poem. I see you're being congratulated before the winners are posted. That's a good sign! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day...hugs, Rhonda
