Within a Poem's Soul
Looking deep down that inner pen
where ink flows from it’s well
there the emotions charge to surge
with structure and imagery fit to gel
Whatever the picture that’s painted
the poet’s inner self pictures it’s own
raising up it’s individuality so bright
knocking hard to break that stone
Sometimes inspiration comes so slowly
at others it rises like in a flash
it’s amazing how a thought can occur
that takes you on an dictionary clash
There you receive all these words
but some don’t fit others just climb
into your mindful lodge of a brain
forms words even make some rhyme
This is all indeed some kind of miracle
that little brain can do so much
as you take that pen in your hand
from there many heart will it touch
