With Walls of Blue
in the stillness of night
in a little room
with walls of blue
little johnny cries alone
alone and cold
alone and afraid
in his little room
with walls of blue
with walls of blue
with walls of blue
in a corner grocery
late into the night
johnny's mother lights a cigarette
watching the time drag along
waiting for the moment to return
to johhny
and cradle him in her arms
and rock him gently to sleep
and cuddle him so he won't weep
in his little room
with walls of blue
with walls of blue
with walls of blue
in another town
far away
a man thinks of his son
far away
as he lies awake
far away
knowing he'll never return
far away
wondering if everything is okay
far away
a tear rolls down his chin
far away
he feels alone for his son
far away
he sees little johhny crying
far away
in his little room
far away
with walls of blue
with walls of blue
with walls of blue
