With Or Without You
With or without you,
you were my savior, and I was yours.
Unlikely to last, our meeting was essential, you are alive and so am I.
Together the suffering was tolerable, unlike the pain of our inevitable end.
From that agony we gained the most,
appreciation, me of you and you of me.
You are my past and I am yours, we come away with souls that shine,
because our hearts are the same,
your’s and mine.
