With Divining Heart I Could Have Foreseen

With Divining Heart I Could Have Foreseen With true divining heart I could have seen little ripples of thy deep discontent. My heart a meadow, once lush and bright green now aching from lost days so sadly spent. If thy heart sought the truth instead of lies thee would have held, fast and firm loving vows. These tears would not splash down from dark skies as I seek anew, fertile fields to plow. Blame I, ignorance of deception's wiles trusting in our dear love and happy bliss. Pray I, for miracle that reconciles this distance, preventing thy soft-lips kiss. With divining heart I could have foreseen how thy lost heart would fail us, sweet Colleen. R.J. Lesson learned in youth, sad but one I suspect a great many others may have learned as well.

Reading you sonnets, I have the opposite feelings. I feel sad because I’ll never reach such impossible heights. At the same time I feel pleasure, the best indicator of a true poetry. A pretty complicated feeling)

Hello Robert, A very moving and most powerful sonnet indeed!! Congratulations to on your sonnet making the Best New Poems List!! Your message here is of a very deep emotion obvious tinged with a historical sadness. If all of us, at times, could only turn back time and be able to right wrongs we've made or any people we may have fallen out with. Outstanding Work -- as usual Robert!! A SEVEN/FAVE IN MY BOOK!! Best Easter Wishes from Ingrid and me to you and your family!! Gary

Truly a masterful write Robert, flows fluidly and speaks volumes. Though a rather sad write, it was an absolute joy to read. Another fave:-)

I love this! One of the few "lost love" poems I have read that talks of the "miracle that reconciles." Beautiful writing as all of your poems. A 7 and fav.
