Wistful Love

I remember when she looked at me And the smiles that garnished her face I always wondered if she could see How she made my heart race She was an exuberance that brought me joy Even when I was sad or deeply depressed But I made my best effort to always play coy Always wondering what if I had confessed I hadn't felt so strongly in such a long time But she slipped away like sand in the breeze To steal her affection would have been a crime And now my heart has begun to freeze Forevermore in my heart is to be wistful love But the reality is I am not her destined dove

Not dead fortunately! It was meant metaphorically since we've kinda gone our separate ways.
