It is an Italian word. I am not sure of the exact meaning - but it might mean friend or brother. The mayor of my city is Bill Deblasio - he is an Italian man - married to an African American. I voted for him - he won in a landslide. The homeless problem is terrible in NYC. B'Shalom - I am sure you know what Shalom means
