Wise Disguise
Behind the eyes some will despise.
The truth you will not see.
Some think that it's a wise disguise.
But not if you ask me.
For how can we find love at all.
If no one knows what's right.
The heart needs honesty to fall.
And clarity of sight.
You look someone straight in the eye.
To find a friend or foe.
And hopefully before you die.
You find some one you know.
Contrived contrition won't dry your tears.
When false ambition fills up your years.
The light behind those mirrors of soul.
Will dim from lies that take their toll.
For the eccentricize my eyes contest. Maybe I should have titled this Unwise Disguise. But I didn't. :)
