Winter's Gone

Winters Gone Waves crash down upon the beach, I envision a life that is just out of reach. Waves come in on the drifting sands, I drift to a dream of a far off land. As the waves recede to reveal what’s below, The tears of sorrow along with the things I sow. The air is so crisp; I stop to catch my breath. The peace just surrounds, puts my mind at rest. The deepest of blues, I can see for miles. Sorrow evaporates as I dawn a smile. The tranquility surrounds much like the water does the sand. Representing the shifting sands on which I stand…… Only to realize there’s so much I don’t understand. The waves pull back and reveal the truth, I remember this spot from the days of my youth. Peace becomes just a state of mind. Like when the tide rolls back, never knowing what you’ll find. In the distance, close, yet so far away, It seems much like the words that I say. I turn to leave to say goodbye. I begin to realize it’s been a pretty good ride. Times are tough but then it will change, Beyond my grasp, yet still in my range. Contrasts of colors, the sky verses the sea, They appear much like the seasons in me. The truth is I really miss so much, It’s hard to see how I got so out of touch. All the things I need always just leave. Just like a magic trick, you just have to believe. I see better days now that winter’s gone. I dream of summer and the heat that I long.
