awww, thank you Silent One for your kind words...yes, I love crunching berries under my feet along with crunching dry leaves (that are long gone, of course) True, we don't have snow here most of the time. I lived in Indiana for quite some time and vividly remember the never-ending snow and ice from November till March...that's why I returned to Texas! have a great evening, Sara

I never saw them in the wild before. I enjoyed the senyru, and the enchanting photograph.

Beautiful! Ive been watching christmas movies on netflix lately, they are always so beautiful and festive and soul warming. And your haiku here is just stunning with gorgeous imagery and flow and the fact that you mentioned winterberries and rudolph makes this senryu stand out and so complete. Love the picture you’ve used here too. Goes very well with your senryu. Pleasure always reading you hope Christmas goes well. And sending you light always.

thanks, Ink, for sharing your thoughts. We've been watching the Hallmark Channel and its Christmas movies...They're a bit shmaltzy but tear jerkers nonetheless. Thanks for your kind words about my haiku/senyru and the image I choose. I love crunching on winterberries. :-) Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas, hugs, Sara

Sara, your work is undeniably brilliant, with an astounding image that captures a sense of uniqueness rarely encountered in the southern hemisphere landscapes. The tactile experience of crunching can be vividly felt through this portrayal.

thanks dear Sotto, for your uplifting and encouraging words. Yes, we rarely get snow here but I lived with it while I worked in Indiana...snow every where for 4-5 months. I remember it vividly :-) Have a pleasant evening, Sara

Such a festive-looking plant, just like the Poinsettia and Christmas cactus. Cute, the bit of humor you've included.

thanks, Paul, for visiting and for enjoying the 'crunch'--my favorite thing to do this time of year. True, we have little to no snow in Texas...but I lived in Indiana for some time and experienced non stop snow, cold and ice from November till March...that's why I returned to Texas. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Sara
