Winter Years
Winter Years
Come to me in my winter years
when shadows are short and full of tears,
pressing the coming of new age
that matters no longer.
Speak my name in soft gentle whispers
that return sweetest memories,
a reminder of all we said and did
when we were together.
Touch my face in a loving caress
with showered perfume scented kisses,
placed upon my cheeks and lips
savored by the taste upon my tongue.
Hold me in the moment when love was young forever,
embraced in love and longing aches
at the absence to be filled
between us.
Hug me one more time close in your arms
my head against your breast
feeling part yet whole
within your every heartbeat.
Say and do nothing more
for this is us, one and two forever
bound in the lost turning pages
of our time in the winter years
