Winter throes

Frosty cold with a bone chilling wind, the kind of day to just stay in.. The ground is frozen, crunchy but not slick. Snow flurries blowing but none seem to stick. Winter's throes arrived too quick..

Sounds like your basic ... I've got to have a cup of hot chocolate day. Nice imagery, Nancy, it put me right in the scene. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, my friend. Bill

LOL I'm not sure Bill that the Aztecs had insects in mind when they developed this holiday though.

So enjoyed reading this wintry poem dear Nancy. Great title too! Very atmospheric and you have described and captured the cold season so well visually and with sound effects too. Really enjoyed reading it especially as I’m here all snug with the heating on! Thank you for sharing. Hugs and smiles to you xx :):)

Dear Christina, Thank you so much for your comment and such kind words. Recently my life has become crazy busy with advocating and providing personal care for some one with very serious health issues. I've hardly had time to visit this wonderful site. God bless you and thanks for commenting.

Hi Tom, It's always a pleasure to hear from you. Quite cold here yesterday in Central Pa. It's those beautiful mountains trapping it in. The Iranians hacked into the Pittsburg water system also but a water company personnel was able to catch it before things got out of hand thankfully. Interesting times we are all living in.

Ah i can feel the coldness of winter and reality through your word weaving . Especially “ bone chilling wind” “ The ground is frozen, crunchy but not slick.“ how descriptive. Definitely cold days would make one want to stay in. Its always better seeing winter in pictures then really experiencing it hah. Ill send you some sun from the sunny side of life. Its too hot today. Pleasure reading you

The Florida Keys may be my next relocation dearInk. I was there in 2014 and it is beautiful. I just have to watch the sun now as a red head. Winters here in Pa. are long and brutal. Hope you are doing well.

Apparently there is no such thing as "being too cold for snow", my Vermont sister corrected me. I guess I don't have "Similia's Sense of snow".
