I was inspired by a Robert Frost line: " . . . to glassed-in children at the sill". I wanted to recapture that image. The rest is invention. Beauty, more than anything else, in my youth, is how poetry trapped me. I recently heard a poet quip; "If you write poetry, it's your fault". Your critique is high praise. Thanks!

thanks to you too Debbie. You are among many truly excellent poets here at the soup. Great to have such a "treasure trove" of modern ( post post-modern? ) work.

This is a very interesting grouping of haiku. I love how they all relate so well to the great title you gave! That last part: sun-rock dragon dreams. LOVE that.

The children see the turtle playing, their point of view. Then the turtle's sees the children in the window, his POV, and last, the scene is depicted. The turtle thinks of himself as a dragon.

thanks for reading my poems the other day, Robert. I have been so busy but finally am trying to catch up. Let me see what you have here!! (oh, and yes, I am a huge Stephen King fan, are you?)

I'm busy too- frazzled. I mean to read all your works. They're true, integral, and provide a different, sain view. That's comforting. Read most of King's works until he became a modern Guttenberg. Publishing two to three book a year evinces a pathology. Again, my humble gratitude for your time and thoughts. RW

a difficult form, but unrelenting, once it grabs you.
