Winter In My Garden
Winter in my Garden
Soft snow has fallen fresh and clean in my garden,
And white draped hedgerows stand serene in my garden.
In tall pine trees, nuts honeyed sweet, a winter treat,
For squirrels, birds and beasts unseen in my garden.
An urban fox, wending his way, this freezing day,
Leaves prints to show where paws have been in my garden.
And on the white, the eye will catch, a darker patch,
‘tis snowdrops showing tips of green in my garden.
A pale gold sun like razor slice, cuts diamond ice,
to light this charming winter scene in my garden
Ghazal The Ghazal has a refrain of one to three words that repeat,
and an inline rhyme that precedes the refrain.
