Winter

The lazily flowing breeze The swaying of the trees Sun peeping out of the clouds Birds unsure if they should sing aloud Little puppies cozying up to mummy Finding warmth in her emaciated tummy New buds trying hard to blossom To spread their fragrance in nature's bosom A crowd of bag totting humanoids Trudging along in a life with happiness devoid No hearts beating nor pulses throb Just empty gazes like a zombie mob I snuggle next to the sleeping pups And the mother, at me, she looks up And gathers me into her with a mother's grace She has a cold nose but warmth in her embrace
