Window At Dawn

spinning dreams like Irish fairytales weaved in spider spun baskets held my memory still and soft in hibernation as fossils waking from haunting slumber in rock cottages on oceans wild and blue telling tales of childlike delight with giggles of innocent freedom while through the window catching the glint in the sun’s opening eye the golden blanket of hope sneaks on silent caterpillar feet slowly measuring the distance of shadows as the warbles of songbirds lift to the amazing dawn of sky my joy warms the cold blankets as eyes vaguely open mating with the new found day capsized with the heartbeat and rhythms of all that walks, runs, swims or flies my joy leaps into this womb of eternal happiness as I rise to a splendid day April 13, 2021 All Yours Poetry Contest April Sponsored by Brian Strand
