Wind Flaunts Fury

day’s light quickly fades rumbles from mighty jaws near bitter winds utter their last gasp my arms are in a flurry bare branches lash against the farmhouse struggling to avoid the chimney’s embers “Snap,” the sound rings out pain I bear as I split in two crash-landing on the horse barn sunrise comes again displaying carnage below nearly lifeless, my tears fall like rain

Sometimes the storms of life are hard to deal with and most of us have them with pain involved. A sad one Carolyn but has a great message! Luv and hugs, Elizabeth

How nature imitates life in every sense of the word. A beautiful poem that tugs at ones sensibilities. Thank you for commenting on my poems and I just wish there was more time in the day so I could catch up on comments. Blessings, Lotus

very vivid imagery Carolyn! And I love the last line "nearly lifeless, my tears fall like rain", such pain you've expressed:)

Carolyn, we had a large branch of our willow come down two days ago , not a barn but a frost fence got it.Sad to see the big open hole where it used to be. Love your poem so much realism here. Very well written!!! Anne

Interesting work..Has there been some winds in the great state of Florida lately?..Karter is with Phyllis and Scottie on a temporary guardianship for two years..During that two years, his two parents have to opportunity to do certain things to get their parental rights back.. If they don't do what is necessary, that is what the court and DFAC says to do, Phyllis and Scottie have to right to legally adopt Karter..Thanks for the stop by the blog..Sara
