Wild Violets

Wild Violets dot the front yard
   A Northern Flicker lands
Then fearfully he flies away
   Each scene's presence demands

Many Sparrows lavishly feed
'Pon the damp earth, seeds flow
A troup of Blackbirds slowly come
To eat where grass is mowed

Those Violets shortly appear
Just a few weeks in spring
With their beauty I feel am blessed
   Theirs a small pleasure bring

I read once that, while violets do have a fragrance, it's impossible to remember it. A lovely poem. Jack

they are truly beautiful little flowers. I remember them well from childhood. i think Utah does not have many of them here though. Nice seeing you today, Sara.
