Wild Asters

I gather twilight shades and arrange them in a vase wild hues of lips just kissed and princely pomp captured in cut-glass embraced and tamed -- though their petals flame in reflective facets tinseled hearts filled with a harvest of falling stars inspires desires of satisfaction as thrill of nightfall’s gold lingers like cosmic light in the stardust of afterthought Susan Ashley April 26, 2020 ~ First Place ~ Contest: Completely Your Choice (23) Sponsor: Brian Strand

Somehow I missed this earlier, but am thrilled I found it! Twilight is my favorite time of day and the colors you capture are so enthralling, but also serene and reflective - simply a bouquet of beauty!

Very enchanting descriptions of asters, Susan. Each line was good ... but what really caught my eye was the last two with the "nightfall's gold lingering in the stardust of afterthought" ... just pure poetry ... and a stark image it leaves for the reader's mind! PS. Appreciate your recent remarks on my dandelion poem ... it's a rare talent to not only be an engaging writer but an engaging reader as well!

Oh, this one affects me in unplanned and unexpected ways. My first dog was named Asteroid, Aster for short. I didn't know about the flower before I had her, she was an arctic mutt and every autumn the asters make me think of her, she was named for a shooting star, and an asteroid streaked the skies where her namesake did as she was dying. A fave xomo

Thank you for sharing your tender memories of Aster with me, Mo, they move me deeply and I can relate to the love you had for your first dog. My first dog was Dutchess, and it's funny the things that remind me of her.. I still dream (bittersweet) about her all these decades later. I hold your precious comments in my heart, along with my appreciation for your fave. Warmest wishes and hugs, my lovely.. ~Susan <3
