Why I Love You

You’ve ignited the fire long suppressed within my core Recovered the since been abandoned personality of my youth Become a constant in my tortured world of unwelcomed change Pressured my close-minded thoughts into the space outside of the box I do not Love many people Often a time the word is degraded in meaning By those whom lack knowledge of the full extent of its power Casually thrown around in daily conversations not worthy of its use You’ve inspired my growth with your unexplainable acts Brought light to what I thought I could only know as dark Treated my stubbornness with nothing shy of tender, loving care Caused a flutter in my once steady heart beat Love makes me uncomfortable Creating sheer vulnerability for the brave soul who announces it Rejection being an ever so present thought in the back of their lost mind A fragile, delicate word holding the weight of the world You’ve walked your way into my hell of a life Willingly devoting yourself to the building of US Undeniably changing my outlook for the better Picking me up every time I fell Love should be used with discretion Only spoken if absolutely certain And on this occasion you’ve been the reason for my decisiveness So, that is why I Love You
