Why Husbands Never Do Laundry
Why Husbands Never Do Laundry
By Elton Camp
Meg never asks Joe to do laundry anymore
Although she finds it an onerous chore
Back when the two first were wed
“You must do your share,” she said
Because he mixed the red and white
Those pink clothes weren’t her delight
Pockets for paper he failed to check
Scraps on clothes made her say “Heck”
Too much detergent wouldn’t rise out
Still-soapy clothes made poor Meg shout
Bleach he applied directly to the clothes
She couldn’t stand spots like those
The dryer vent he forgot to clean
The worst lint on clothes she’d seen
He left it on until they were bone dry
To get out wrinkles, no need to try
Those schemes his buds recommended
Having to wash clothes it quickly ended
It wasn’t that sly Joe was a lazy jerk
He knew laundry was woman’s work
