Why Have We Forgotten
See how loveliness lingers lazily in lavender fields
And serenity slips silently into sunlit streams
See how love, like water, softly yields
Draping dreamers in desirous dreams
Hark how harmony hushes and heals
Trampled trust and tortured tears
Feel how faith flows into fortune's fears
As yesterdays yield youthful years
See how contentment's silken slumber sings
When compassion calms and comfort brings
The whole tree rests
In the silent memory of the seed
Why have we forgotten how to heed?
