Why Have I Come

To your Presence Why have I come? Of what essence Have I left my home? Is it for praise Thrown to the pleasure Of my face? Or to acclaim vain glory When I hurry To give bountifully out of my treasure? To criticize the sermon And constantly blame Brother Simon For the true doctrine preached? To blame the song pitched And out of harmony... The rent of cacophony! To your Presence Why have I come? Of what essence Have I left my home? I have come to touch thee To be defeated at your feet Your victory evident on me To heal my stony heart At your divine treat Glued to you and never apart.
