Why God

You used to be my inspiration Now it is just all confusion Because you are supposed to care And keep people safe everywhere So why did you take them away On that sad and fateful day As I stood and watched in horror Wondering why with all your power You took away my loving family God I thought you were heavenly They have never harmed a soul They're the half that made me whole Two loving kids and a father I don't know why people bother Praying to you every night When you make things wrong, not right Now I'm lost and in a panic And my mind is going frantic Asking for the reason why You would make somebody cry Who's heart used to be full of faith Was it just a total waste To believe in things you can not see God why wont you answer me

I wish there were some healing words for your pain. Sometimes all we have is trust and faith and we must hang on to them as we travel through our torment. Every experience is unique and though I have had my own unbearable losses I haven't had yours but I have come through them. May you find comfort. Love, Joyce

Sadly Robin, there is no answer to the question. I heard it said once that "if there were no God, we'd have to invent one". I fired the God of concepts and concrete and blind faith years ago. Now I have a relationship with something cannot define by putting limitations on it.

Perhaps pain is the answer. It drives us to quest and question. Caught up in the moment of it, though, we cannot see reason or rhyme. We were created to create, whether by evolution or design is of no matter at days end. God or no god, we have each other to hold onto, in hand or memory. There's a Wilson Phillips song which states "hang on for one more day"...Love and light !

For some things there are no answers to be found in this life. I do believe in the next life and there will be a reunion. So sorry for your loss, if you listen God will indeed speak to you beyond the grief. This one hurt to read, I'm glad Vicky chose it.

Well stated Robin! When things don't go well it is easy to have questions as to the purpose of existence. Trials and tribulations abound that test our faith and seek to erode our hope and faith. Well written poem - reflective and pensive.

I won't even pretend to know why God does seemingly cruel things. He puts so much love in our hearts for someone or something and then takes them from us. I can only speak of my relationship with God and lift praise to Him for all the blessings, even in stressful times, that I have known. There are times when I have to show anger to Almighty God... And He is quick to let me know He can handle my anger. Through all tribulation there is one constant.... I remain a child of the Living God... Jake

your poem has moved something inside me this morning... I think at one point in my life, I stop asking WHY! this is very deep, and meaningful to people who are not so sure, why things end the way they do. When I'm ready I am sure I will hear God's voice.. thanks always ...Linda

Robin, "Why, God?" is a question with no answers. But life is full of questions like that. Just know, that we live live in world of duality. Sometimes it seems the scales tip one way or the other. Allan

We're glad you asked. I have had this loss also. I have found that God takes people for us not from us. Yesterday God showed me he was with me through several small miracles. I cannot deny them. I recieved something because of them. Something I needed. So believe me the time to trust most is when you cannot see why.

WOW! Robin you blew me away with this one, questioning the almighty, some say it is a sin, I say why? Very emotional and powerful speaks truth! Why does GOD take away the loved ones that makes whole, is it a joke? Does he do it, because he needs angels? Or does he do it, because he is bored? I guess one day you'll find it out, but we all have to get up, dust ourselves off, hold back somber tears and walk on the road to paradise. Very heavy write, but what a tremendous job you did! Great Write!!!

Love your poem I feel deep in my heart that we must overcome even the death of loved ones.Keep your faith and in the end we are all judged according to our works and may god show mercy upon your soul.We must trudge on so that in the end the devil doesn't claim our souls by us taking what doesn't belong to us our own lives
