Why Box

Why Box! By Stanley Russell Harris The New Mad Author & A Poetry Soup honourably mentioned poet Should I don the shorts of a boxer? Gloves, boots, and with a gum shield on! Should I climb into a boxing ring? And listen to the crowd’s almighty din! Should I face my opponent? Tremble at his sight! Should I set out to kill him? As it’s possible I might! Why I ask am I fighting? Dislike him I do not! Yet in the ring personalities change! And I’m fired up a lot. We exchange blows to the body and head! Fall; stand up as not yet dead! At last one takes the count of ten. His loss, my gain, as I’m victorious, once again!
