Why and Because

Looking back at the time the love that was That certain beauty the why and the because The look of the eye's made by God Part of the answer the why and because The hair situated for applause another of my reasons the why and because The magnetism of eye's that awe that bothersome stare the why and because The preciousness of secret desire not of lust but loves special power The presence of dreams both day and night The eye's definition of the gift of sight My thoughts of her speaking if she might and my idiotic response my sovereign right Guarding my feelings with unwritten laws another form of suffering my why and because

Memories of the past are so sweet and they make the present so much nicer. But it is important not to dwell on what was and to enjoy what is now. Often the past is what the present grows from so we must be careful to tend the garden of the present so that in future we can remember with fondness. A beautiful write my friend. Bravo. Love the refrain, John…that is often key to a good poem! The beauty, the passion, the guarded feelings, suffering…
