Who You Be
I was walking down the street one warm Saturday night
And three young brothers approached me
Faces cloaked in red scarves
So I braced myself anticipating the worse
But then one asked me a question
That changed everything
He was like who you be?
And at that moment time its self stopped
And I resaid the question who I be?
Then with ease I replied I be your salvation
Grammatically incorrect is you question
I am your brother brother you are my keeper
We are 1 as a people
I am superior to the the typical man
Cuz I am connected
Connected to a heritage that has structured my mind
Through the emancipation of my history
I don't bang blood it pumps in my soul infused with God's
gift to me melanin from the clay he used to make me
So my question to you is not who u be ? but who are you?
Cuz the state of to be is to impersonate to try but I wanna
know who you have become alone
Without the influences of this corrupt society
Simply said
I am.....
